The Centre for Training in Judiciary and State Prosecution (CTJSP) and the Centre for Civic Education (CCE) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation today, establishing a framework for long-term cooperation in the areas of judicial reform, the protection of human and digital rights, professional development, and the exchange of knowledge and experience.
The Memorandum was signed by Ljiljana Šoškić, President of the CTJSP Management Board, and Daliborka Uljarević, Executive Director of the CCE.
The cooperation will include the organisation of joint training programmes for judges, state prosecutors, lawyers, and representatives of civil society organisations, as well as thematic events, the preparation of publications and analyses, and the exchange of professional expertise in areas of mutual interest.
“The Centre for Training in the Judiciary and State Prosecution continuously develops cooperation with institutions and organisations whose expertise and experience can contribute to the quality of the professional training of judicial office holders. The Memorandum with the Centre for Civic Education provides an important framework for implementing joint training programmes, exchanging professional knowledge, and developing initiatives in areas of particular relevance to the modern judiciary. We are confident that this cooperation will strengthen the professional capacities of judges, state prosecutors, and other representatives of the judiciary, in line with European standards and the challenges brought by contemporary social and technological developments,” underlined Ljiljana Šoškić, President of the Governing Board of the Centre for Training in the Judiciary and State Prosecution and judge of the Supreme Court of Montenegro.
Particular focus will be placed on strengthening professional capacities in the areas of judicial reform, human rights protection, digital rights, and the application of new legal mechanisms, as well as on developing joint initiatives through programmes of the European Union and other international partners.
“Cooperation between the judiciary and civil society organisations is an important prerequisite for strengthening the rule of law and protecting human rights. This Memorandum is not an end in itself, but a foundation for concrete joint activities – from professional training and knowledge exchange to the development of new initiatives that will contribute to a more modern, open, and accountable judicial system in Montenegro. We believe that this partnership will further improve professional standards and create greater space for meaningful dialogue between judicial institutions and civil society organisations,” said Daliborka Uljarević, Executive Director of CCE.
By signing the Memorandum, CTJSP and CCE reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening professional capacities, improving cooperation between the judiciary and civil society organisations, and developing a partnership that will contribute to a more effective rule of law system and stronger protection of human rights in Montenegro.
