announces a
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
for participants of the 6th generation of the
TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE SCHOOL
We invite young people aged 18 to 35 to apply for the 6th Transitional Justice School and learn more about the concept of transitional justice, the wars of the 1990s, war crimes committed in the territory of the former SFRY and Montenegro, the culture of remembrance, and the process of dealing with the past.
Through three modules and a comprehensive approach combining lectures, workshops, discussions, film screenings, visits to key sites of crimes and remembrance, as well as relevant institutions, the Transitional Justice School provides participants with valuable and much-needed knowledge that is still not part of the formal education system.
The first module consists of a four-day theoretical and interactive training programme, which will take place from 1 to 4 October 2026 in southern Montenegro. It will include lectures and workshops, as well as visits to the former Morinj camp and the Herceg Novi Security Department. The second module consists of a two-day study visit, including an overnight stay, during which participants will visit crime sites and places of remembrance in northern Montenegro related to five cases: Bukovica, the Klapuh family, Štrpci, Kaluđerski Laz and Murino. The final module will include visits to relevant institutions and an award ceremony for participants who successfully complete the programme, which requires participation in all three modules.
Sessions will be led by national and regional experts in human rights, humanitarian law, international relations and European integration, coming from academia, civil society, international organisations, institutions, the media and other relevant fields.

Students, activists, journalists, researchers and young professionals from Montenegro.

CCE will cover all costs related to the School programme.
Detailed information about the programme will be provided to candidates selected to participate in the Transitional Justice School following the selection process and evaluation of applications.
