Call for the participants of the 5th generation of the Transitional Justice School

announces a

CALL

for the participants of the 5th generation of the

TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE SCHOOL

If you are a young person, aged 18 to 35, and wish to learn more about the concept of transitional justice, the culture of remembrance, the wars of the 1990s, war crimes and atrocities in the former Yugoslavia and Montenegro, as well as contribute to the process of dealing with the past, as one of the foundations of democratization and Europeanization of Montenegrin society, then the Transitional Justice School is the programme for you!

The Transitional Justice School, through three modules and a comprehensive approach that includes lectures, workshops, discussions, film screenings, visits to key sites of crimes and remembrance, as well as institutions, enables participants to acquire valuable and necessary knowledge that is still not part of the formal education system.

The first module consists of theoretical-interactive education and will take place from 11 to 14 October 2025, in the Southern or Northern part of Montenegro, including lectures and workshops. The second module will include a three-day study visit and tours of crime and remembrance sites in both northern and southern Montenegro. The third module will include visits to institutions and the awarding of diplomas to those who successfully complete the program, which requires mandatory participation in all three modules.

Sessions will be led by domestic and regional experts specializing in human rights, humanitarian law, international relations and European integration, coming from academia, civil society, international organizations, institutions, media, etc.

Who can apply?
Students, activists, journalists, researchers, and young professionals from Montenegro.

How and when to apply?
Applications (CV with contact information and a short motivation letter) should be submitted no later than 21 September 2025, by email to info@cgo-cce.org , with the subject line: Application – Transitional Justice School – NAME SURNAME.

The Transitional Justice School is free of charge for selected participants, as all programme-related costs are covered by CCE.

Detailed information about the programme will be provided to candidates invited to the Transitional Justice School following the selection process, based on the evaluation of applications.
