Mélodie Tran Thuan, International Intern

Mélodie Tran Thuan is a French-born Vietnamese student currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Central European Studies at Sorbonne University in Paris. Previously, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in German Studies from Sorbonne University, with a minor in Health Sciences. In the 2026-2027, she will complete the second year of her Master’s programme as an Erasmus student at Charles University in Prague. Throughout her studies, she has been actively involved in student representation and higher education governance, serving as Student Vice President of Sorbonne University for two years and representing her university within the 4EU+ European University Alliance. In this capacity, she contributed to the design and implementation of student-oriented projects and mobility opportunities. As a recipient of several 4EU+ scholarships, she participated in international academic programmes, winter and summer schools organized by Charles University, Heidelberg University and the University of Copenhagen. Furthermore, and attended numerous seminars in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Alongside her academic and civic engagement, she has been involved in cultural initiatives, notably through a theatre project with the Franco-German University (FGU) that toured several cities across Germany in 2023. Professionally, she works as Communications and Student Projects Officer at the Alliance Sorbonne Université’s Global Health Institute. She also gained experience within the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, supporting in administrative part digital communication projects. She is particularly interested in democratic participation, higher education policy, civil society development, and the European Union’s enlargement process in the Western Balkans, which motivated her current internship at the Centre for Civic Education (CCE). In addition to her native Vietnamese, she is fluent in French, English and German, and has basic knowledge of Croatian.
