The initial meeting of the Coalition for Transparency and Fight against corruption at the local level, which also included strategic planning and drafting of the Action plan of the Coalition, was held in Petrovac from 19 to 21 April 2018, within the project „Let’s put corruption into museum!“.
Mission of the Coalition is to strengthen the civic awareness, civic sector and overall capacities of the society in the fight against corruption at the local and national level. Focus of the Coalition’s activities will be on strengthening the transparency and accountability of institutions in areas of particular risk to corruption, strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations and anti-corruption institutions, as well as raising the awareness, knowledge and activism of citizens for the fight against corruption.
Public call for joining the Coalition for Transparency and Fight against corruption was open for limited number of civil society organizations with proven experience in conducting projects and initiatives in the area of transparency, responsibility of institutions and the fight against corruption.
The Coalition consists of 14 CSOs, as follows: Centre for Civic Education (CCE), Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI), UL-Info from Ulcinj, Institute Alternative (IA), Za Druga from Petrovac, Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organizations (CDNGO), Juventas, Bonum from Pljevlja, Active zone from Cetinje, Democratic Center from Bjelo Polje, Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro (CIN CG), Union of Doctors of Medicine of Montenegro, Center for Security, Sociological and Criminological Research “Defendology” from Niksic and Monitoring group Ulcinj – MogUL.
The Coalition for Transparency and Fight against Corruption is part of the project “Let’s put Corruption into Museum!”, which the CCE conducts in partnership with NGO Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI), NGO Bonum from Pljevlja, NGO UL-Info from Ulcinj and NGO Za Druga from Petrovac, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and the Anti-Corruption Agency, with the financial support of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, and it represents the third phase of the wider CCE programme aiming to contribute to the reduction of corruption at the local level.
