The Kotor edition of the Fast Forward Festival begins, while the audience in Podgorica is waiting for new and exciting programme

The third day of the FAST FORWARD Human Rights Film Festival Montenegro 2023 brings three new premieres in Podgorica, while simultaneously starting the Kotor edition with the film “Mamula All Inclusive”.

From 18:00 in Cinema “Boka” in Kotor, the audience will have the opportunity to watch the feature-length documentary Mamula All Inclusive, directed by Aleksandar Reljić, who is a guest of the FAST FORWARD Festival. The film follows the deceased Ivo Marković, who was detained in a camp at the age of nine, but also the transformation of the Mamula fortress at the gate of Boka Kotorska, which served as a notorious camp where civilians were imprisoned, tortured and starved. The minority producer of this film is the Centre for Civic Education (CCE).

At 20:00, the screening of the film 20 days in Mariupol, the first feature-length film by Mstyslav Chernov, will follow. He is presenting it after almost a decade of reporting on international conflicts, including the Russian-Ukrainian war for AP. The film is a harrowing story about civilians who found themselves under siege, but also a window into how to report from conflict zones, and the impact of such journalism around the world.

In Podgorica, the second day’s programme begins at 17:00 with the screening of the film The Female Gang directed by Susanne Regina Meures. The film focuses on fourteen-year-old Leonie, a successful influencer who lives on the outskirts of Berlin. Millions of followers are at her feet, and companies shower her with products. When Leonie’s parents discover the enormous financial potential of their daughter’s online activities, they take control of it. But Leona’s life, dictated by brands and the pressure to create content, slowly turns into a prison.

At 19:00, the audience in Podgorica also can watch the multiple award-winning film 20 days in Mariupol.

The debut feature-length film Rodeo, by French director and screenwriter Lola Quivoron, is on the programme at 21:00. The film is set in the motorcycle subculture of the Paris suburbs, where a fearless female motorcyclist manages to completely shake up the men’s motorcycle club.

Admission to all screenings is free, and more information is available at www.ubrzaj.me.
