On 25 August, the Centre for Civic Education (CCE), on behalf of 38 NGOs and 13 civic activists, informed the EU Delegation to Montenegro about the smear campaign targeting our colleague Tea Gorjanc Prelević, a distinguished human rights defender and Executive Director of Human Rights Action (HRA).
The EU Delegation has responded to this matter, and CCE is publishing the original reply along with its translation into Montenegrin.
We remind that other international partners, both from the EU and beyond, have also stood in support of civil society, underlining its importance for democratization and European integration processes. They have also stressed that the authorities must show greater respect and sensitivity towards NGOs and activists and ensure an adequate environment for their work.
