Public Call for participants in a training for high school teachers on teaching gender topics

Center for Civic Education (CCE) announces

PUBLIC CALL

for

participants in a training for high school teachers on teaching gender topics

This call is open to all high school teachers of social sciences subjects across Montenegro who are interested in expanding their knowledge on methods of teaching gender topics to young people, with a focus on sexism and gender-based violence.

The aim of the training is to provide additional knowledge and methods for working with students to develop gender sensitivity among young people and empower them for active prevention within peer groups, schools, and communities. It will also cover recognizing and addressing sexism and hate speech in media and real-world spaces, prevention methods, and reporting procedures.

The one-day training will be led by experts in gender equality, media, and education through interactive workshops and practical examples. Participants will acquire knowledge and methods for integrating gender topics into their classes, both within specific social science subjects and as a cross-curricular area, contributing to a supportive environment for fostering gender-sensitive young people.

All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the training.

The training will take place on 19 November 2024, in Podgorica. The organizer will cover the costs of organization and transportation for participants from outside Podgorica.

Applications should include a brief biography with contact information (basic data, school name, subject taught), and should be sent via email to info@cgo-cce.org, with the subject line: APPLICATION FOR TEACHERS’ TRAINING ON TEACHING GENDER TOPICS.

The application deadline is 10 November 2024, and the number of places is limited. Selected participants will be notified of programme details.

For further information, feel free to contact us at maja.m@cgo-cce.org  or 020 228 479.

The training is part of the project Against Gender Stereotypes and Sexism!, which CCE implements with the support of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
