Montenegro’s Natural Resources Unconstitutionally Put at Risk

By voting in favour of the Law on the Ratification of the Cooperation Agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the field of tourism and real estate development, the parliamentary majority has violated the Constitution and laws of Montenegro, putting Montenegro’s natural resources at risk. This decision grants a privileged status to a third country in the disposal and management of the most valuable state assets, while also breaching obligations stemming from the EU accession process.

This act does not represent progress, but rather a step backward toward legal uncertainty and non-transparent processes that go against the interests of the citizens of Montenegro.

Let those in the majority who supported this Law be assured: we will not remain silent while national resources, territory, and sovereignty are handed over without clear criteria, public debate, or adherence to democratic procedures.

We will continue to expose the questionable dealings of this Government, demand accountability, and protect the public interest.

We will be the voice of citizens, experts, and all those who believe in a state founded on law, justice, and European values. This is not just a fight over a single law or agreement – this is a fight for a legal and ecological state, for transparency, and for future generations to whom we will leave this country.

Our fight is just beginning!
