Lejla Šabotić is a student at the Law Faculty of the University of Montenegro, a U.S. Government scholarship recipient, and an alumna of the FLEX exchange program. She successfully completed the UNHCR Legal Clinic programme in refugee law and participated in the ENEMLOS legal clinics organized by the Law Faculty. She attended the Regional Euro-Atlantic Camp – REACT organized by ALFA Centre and completed the Political Academy of the Fund for Progressive Politics. Also, she took part in the Congress of Law Students on Criminal Policy in the Former Yugoslavia and the International Student Conference on Crime Prevention and Security. She has completed several alternative educational programmes, including the Civic Education School in Washington, D.C. organized by American Councils for International Education, the EU Negotiation School organized by Centre for Civic Education (CCE), the Gender Equality School organized by CEDEM, the Transitional Justice School organized by Civic Alliance, and the School of European Integration and Application of European Values in the Western Balkans organized by SOCEN. Furthermore, she has participated in programmes on youth policy advocacy and youth rights, as well as in a study visit to youth organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized by the Youth Network of Montenegro, and in the regional volunteering exchange program ROUTE WB6, implemented by RYCO. As a FLEX alumna, she has been City Representative, organizing numerous activities focused on youth activism and education. Fluent in English.
