Centre for Civic Education (CCE) announces a
CALL “Reporting for change”
for the best investigative journalistic story that produced a specific change
In order to strengthen the role of the media in Montenegrin society, emphasize the importance of reporting on numerous issues in the context of European integration, as well as further affirmation of investigative journalism in Montenegro, the Centre for Civic Education (CCE) announces a CALL for the best journalistic investigative story on “Reporting for change”.
The competition is part of the project „Support to local media – first hand stories! Supporting investigative journalism and media literacy at the local level in Montenegro“ aimed at contributing to the process of European integration of Montenegro through the strengthening of professional, independent and investigative journalism, particularly at the local level through education and capacity development of media professionals in the field of digital and media literacy.
Eligible investigative stories must be published in the period from 1 January 2020 to 14 February 2021, after which a specific change and contribution to solving a problem at the local or national level occurred. Investigative stories created through a re-granting scheme within this project cannot apply for the competition.
The competition is intended for journalists of Montenegrin print and electronic media (Internet publications), agencies and web portals registered in Montenegro. Authors can submit a maximum of two articles, whether they apply themselves or they are nominated by the main newsroom, journalists associations or the jury.
The deadline for submitting articles is 14 April 2021, until 14h00.
To apply for the competition, the following documents in electronic form should be submitted:
- a copy of the published article (scanned text, link of the published story, video or audio attachment depending on the type of media), with a clear indication of when and where the article was published;
- first name and surname of the author, contact number and e-mail address.
Applications can be sent solely via e-mail info@cgo-cce.org, with the subject: „COMPETITION – Reporting to change“.
Incomplete applications shall not be considered.
The Commission will select the three best stories to be awarded cash prizes in the following gross amounts:
- First prize: 1000 €
- Second prize: 700 €
- Third prize: 400 €
Awarded articles will be published on the CCE website and further promoted through social networks.
The competition is organized within the framework of the project ‘Support to local media – first hand stories! -supporting investigative journalism and media literacy at the local level in Montenegro’ implemented by B film Montenegro, Centre for Civic Education (CCE), SHARE Foundation and Institute for business and financial literacy. The project is funded by the EU through the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media of Montenegro.
