Centre for Civic Education (CCE) today organised, as a result of practical work during the Human Rights School, first in series of actions, in the public institutions Mixed High school “Bećo Bašić” in Plav. The action focused on promotion of significance of volunteerism among young people. Objective of action was to raise awareness of high school pupils about this subject, as well as to encourage proactive acting of young people in Montenegrin society. The action is supported by the US Embassy in Montenegro, through the Youth build Montenegro project.
During the action, the participants of XIX generation of Human Rights School Anela Džemajlović and Jasmin Pejčinović, presented information and knowledge on volunteerism to their peers in Plav, as well as their personal experiences and lessons learned through volunteering engagement within the CCE and other organisations. Moreover, informative and educational material was handed over to participants and a brief questionnaire, which will serve for the research of attitudes and knowledge of young people.
During their visit to Plav, CCE team, lead by Petar Đukanović, programme coordinator and Miloš Knežević, coordinator of CCE Youth group, delivered a donation to the library of public institutions Mixed High school “Bećo Bašić”. Donation is consisted of 42 titles in form of 54 copies regarding the area of democracy, human rights, European integration and active citizenship.
