Sixth edition of FAST FORWARD Human Rights Film Festival 2015, in the organisation of the Centre for Civic Education (CCE), was closed on 15 December 2015, whereby the audience from Podgorica, Berane and Kotor had the opportunity to enjoy in the high-quality recent film achievements through the impressive collection which contained 11 excellent films from around the world. This is supported also by the nomination of two movies for Academy award for best foreign movies in 2015. Namely, Hungarian “Son of Saul”, which closed the FAST FORWARD 2015 Festival, and Franch-Turkish “Mustang”, screened on 13 December, are in the competition for the prestigious Film Academy Award. Furthermore, in addition to its nomination, “Son of Saul” won the prestigious Golden Globe award for the best foreign movie in 2015 last week.
CCE will continue screening of films that address human rights issues, and to work to provide Montenegrin audience with most significant film achievements from region and world. This form of interaction with the audience significantly raises the awareness on the importance of human rights and their protection and advancement, as well as the system of values which incites harmony between different groups on any ground, but it could also represent an encouragement for Montenegrin artists to use their talent more to elaborate the field of human rights.
FAST FORWARD Human Rights Film Festival 2015 was realised with the support of US Embassy, Embassy of Canada, Commission for the allocation of part of the revenue from games of chance of Government of Montenegro, as well as the prestigious Movie that matters (which for the first time supported this type of project in Montenegro). Partners of the Festival were Montenegrin National Theatre (CNP), Beldocs, public broadcaster RTCG (TV and Portal), Vijesti (newspapers and portal), Cultural centre «Nikola Đurković» from Kotor, Municipality of Berane, as well as the companies Montepano, Studio Mouse and Compania de Vinos Montenegro. CCE will in 2016 continue the cooperation with partners in the implementation of the seventh editions of the FAST FORWARD 2016, for which the work is already on-going.
