Maja Marinovic, Programme Associate

Maja Marinović is a final-year student at the Law Faculty of the University of Montenegro. She successfully completed the Democracy School in the organisation of the CCE and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), the Regional School for Democracy organized by the FES, the Centre for International Relations from Banja Luka and the Centre for International Studies from Zagreb, as well as the Feminism School organized by the Centre for Women’s and Peace Education – ANIMA from Kotor. She took part in the Fostering Dialogue and Social Cohesion Programme organized by the UNDP Office in Montenegro. As a participant of the Young EUSAIR Communication Academy, she obtained a certificate in the field of communications and digital campaigns. Furthermore, she advanced her knowledge in the areas of women’s rights, writing project proposals for EU funds, effective communication, etc. and through internal CCE’s training, she gained skills in event organization, conducting tender procedures, free access to information, using WordPress, communicating projects funded by EU funds, as well as basics of the Albanian language. She was a member of the student organisation ADAMAS at the Law Faculty and an activist of the European Law Student Association (ELSA). She is the editor, co-author or contributor to publications – On the other side of the keyboard – hate speech through the prism of citizens, laws and case studies; Discrimination in Montenegro – analysis of the public opinion poll findings; Digital Activism Against Hate Speech – Handbook in the Battle against e-Homophobia/Biphobia/Transphobia, Hatred, and Violence; Let’s Fast Forward Gender Equality; Transparency Index of Montenegrin municipalities; and Open justice – analysis on the transparency of Montenegrin judiciary. She was an associate of the electronic monthly magazine European Pulse. Fluent in English, with knowledge of French, Italian and Spanish language.
