Centre for Civic Education (CCE) organized today, from 11h00 to 13h00, in Podgorica, on the plateau in front of the National Library ‘Radosav Ljumovic’, second street action of collecting books to enrich the library of the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (ZIKS).
During the two street actions, today and the first one that held in Podgorica on 6 April on the Roman Square, nearly 175 books were collected.
The action of collecting books will last until 25 april 2019, and the CCE has already invited all interested citizens and legal entities wishing to donate books or other reading content, to do so in the CCE premises Blv. Svetog Petra Cetinjskog 96 III/6, every working day from 08h00 to 17h00.
Project Alternative sanctions – from punishment to reintegration aims to contribute to improvement and protection of human and minority rights in Montenegro through the active participation of civil society organizations. Specific project objectives are strengthening of the capacities of competent authorities to improve the quality of respect for fundamental rights of persons deprived of liberty in Montenegro and cooperation of civil society organizations and competent authorities in using alternative sanction mechanisms as more active contribution to respect for fundamental rights of persons deprived of liberty in Montenegro. The project is supported by the Ministry of Justice of the Government of Montenegro and implemented by the CCE in cooperation with the Institute for Legal Studies (ILS).
