Call for a webinar for teachers of history and social science subjects

Anti-war and peace initiatives in Montenegro during the wars of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia

The Centre for Civic Education (CCE) invites all interested teachers of history and social science subjects to apply for the webinar Anti-war and peace initiatives in Montenegro during the wars of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia.

Antiratne i mirovne inicijative u Crnoj Gori tokom ratova 90ih na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije

At the webinar, the manual of the same title for professors will be presented, as well as the manner of its application in pedagogical practice. Given that this issue is insufficiently addressed in current textbooks and curricula, the event aims to strengthen the competencies of professors to teach this important issue, but also to motivate them to apply new methodological directions and outcomes in their teaching practice to develop students’ social and civic competencies and thus stimulate their more accountable participation in a democratic society.

The webinar will be held via the Zoom platform on 19 June 2021, from 10:00 until 14:00.

The lecturers are Miloš Vukanović (CCE) and Igor Radulović (author of the manual).

Deadline for sending applications (short motivational letter and CV) is 16 June 2021. The applications should be sent via e-mail ivan.s@cgo-cce.org  with the subject that indicates the webinar Anti-war and peace initiatives in Montenegro during the wars of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia.

Webinar participants will be awarded certificates.

The webinar is part of the project “Different Paths – Shared Values”, implemented by the Centre for Civic Education (CCE) in partnership with the Youth Initiative for Human Rights from Zagreb (YIHR), the Association for Modern History from Sarajevo, and the German foundations Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst (forumZFD) and Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS), with the financial support of the European Union through the programme Europe for Citizens.
