PUBLIC CALL
FOR PARTICIPATION AT THE REGIONAL ART WORKSHOP
ART FOR SOCIAL CHANGE – VIEW ON CORRUPTION
Aiming to contribute to fight against corruption through alternative ways and sensibilisation of the artistic community in communicating current social challenges, the Centre for Civic Education (CCE) and the NGO Za druga invite young artists and students of visual art, fine arts and drama to participate at the regional art workshop ART FOR SOCIAL CHANGE – VIEW ON CORRUPTION.
Focus of the activities and work at the art workshop will be participation of young artists and students of art in reviewing artistic practices that create an important archive of socially engaged art. The result of the workshop will be development of original solutions, artworks in various media that should contextualize perception, causes and consequences of corrupt practices in all social and political aspects and offer an innovative perspective that influences public opinion and sensibilisation about the harmful effects of corruption on overall social development.
The workshop will last for three days (preliminary dates are from 29 to 31 October 2019). Organizer covers travel and accommodation costs, as well as basic materials required for work of artists at the colony. Prominent lecturers and mentors will moderate work, dynamics of activities, and dissemination of expected new works developed at the workshop.
The deadline for application is 23 October 2019, until 15h.
For application, it is necessary to submit the following documentation in electronic form:
- name of the author, contact number and electronic address;
- short CV (with particular review to works or activities in this area, if any);
- proposal of necessary materials for work during the regional art workshop.
Applications are to be sent to the address: info@cgo-cce.org with subject ‘Application for public call for regional workshop’. Incomplete applications shall not be considered.
All works from the regional art workshop will be presented at the project site, as an integral part of the project, but also as an expression of engaged art, which with its specific expression can uniquely light up numerous social problems and inspire other similar artistic interventions.
Public call for participation at the regional art workshop on communicating corruption through artists view is launched within the project LET’S PUT CORRUPTION INTO MUSEUM! implemented by Centre for Civic Education (CCE) in partnership with NGO Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) from Podgorica, NGO Bonum from Pljevlja, NGO UL Info from Ulcinj and NGO Za Druga from Petrovac, in cooperation with Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Ministry of Public Administration. The project is financed by the Delegation of European Union to Montenegro and co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration.
